I am writing to request your participation in upcoming forums set in support of our February 2010 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application. We must show involvement in order to get funded. The forums are designed to get input from residents on a Community Development Strategy that defines needs and potential activities to include in our CDBG application.

Three public forums are scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th(see below). I would really appreciate it if you can drop in on one of the sessions. Also, please forward to others or post the attached flyers. Thank you in advance for your support!

Forum 1: Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Middleborough Public Library, Lower Level, 102 N. Main Street

Forum 2: Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

One activity that we envision continuing and including in the 2010 application is our Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program. Other considerations: social service activities, water infrastructure.

Other events:

On Tuesday, October 27th, 8:30 a.m. to noon, a Job Fair for Middleborough residents will be held at Town Hall, 2nd floor. A total of eight companies will be participating.

On Monday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 2 we will be conducting Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program Workshops. The purpose of these are to provide details on the program to potential beneficiaries. Again, for the CDBG application, a community must demonstrate need for such an activity and show these outreach efforts.
