Shopping School

My wife just left for "shopping school". That's what I call her trips on the Oak Point sponsored bus that takes her to local malls every week.

The bus rolls through Oak Point around 9:00 AM every Wednesday, and returns here about 1:00 PM. You don't have to call anyone or make special arrangements: just hop on when it reaches your neighborhood.

While it does seem to be mostly women who make these trips, there's at least one man who goes regularly. My wife says they all have a great time laughing and kidding the bus driver. My wife is known as "Queen of Returns" to the other riders - she does tend to buy things she's not sure of and haul them back the next week. Once she returned two cans of seven year old paint to Sears: that must be some sort of record.

The ride is free, though the Oak Pointers often tip the bus driver a couple of dollars. This isn't the only service available at Oak Point - the GATRA buses ( http://www.gatra.org/dar.html) are also available to those of us over 60.
