I'm pleased to announce that the new restaurant "Great Chow 18" announced here on these pages August 3rd, located on Route 18 in Abington is opening this afternoon, Monday September 3rd at 5PM. I'm sure you will enjoy not only their wonderful food with spectacular choices, but the beautiful design of the restaurant itself. If you go, please say hi to Sing Lau (the COO and general manager) and Tony Lam, who transferred from Wollaston and is now Great Chow 18's operations manager.
Directions from Oakpoint:
17 mile route; (recommended especially at night) Take Rte.105 north to the end. Turn left onto Rte.106 and follow to Rte.18 intersection. Turn right onto Rte.18. Restaurant is on the right a few miles beyond the Strawberry Valley Golf Club in Abington. This is a little longer but better roads, fewer turns and traffic lights.
15 mile route; Take Rte.105 north to the end. Turn left onto Rte. 106. Watch for shortcut (arrow sign) to route 27 just a short distance on the right, about a tenth of a mile. Follow this road (winding & bumpy) to the end and turn left onto Rte. 27. Follow 27 to intersection of Rte.18 and turn right. Follow 18 to the restaurant.
Norman Forde
If you are afraid of the shortcuts, it's just 22 miles if you go the longest way (out Plain Street to Plymouth St. and Rte 44, 44 to Rte 18 at the Rotary, 18 to restaurant) - Tony Lawrence
