This was a real treat - I don't know if I can find enough nice things to say about our lunch here. Linda had tuna fish on rye - she's very fussy about her tuna fish, and kept saying "This is really good" and "Excellent".. she was very happy. All white tuna, not too much mayo, and amazingly unsalty.
I had ordered the "1620" - the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce combo, but because it was near closing (3:00 PM weekdays), they had run out of turkey. The owner suggested that I might like to substitute ham instead. I was a little leery because too often ham is bit fatty for my taste, but Barbara assured me it was nice, lean ham.. she showed me a slice and said if I wasn't happy after the first bite, she'd make me something else immediately. I decided to be adventurous and try it. It was great.. I had it on thick and tasty wheat bread (Linda mentioned that her bread was very good also).
Reasonable prices, excellent food - a real treasure in downtown Middleboro. They do catering too. Highly recommended.
